We’ve introduced a range of enhancements to Service Jobs to improve visibility, streamline processing, and give you greater control.
Prepayments & Payments
Prepayments Button Added
A new Prepayments button is now available in Service Job Enquiry, along with a pop-up screen to view prepayments applied to service jobs.
Jump To > Enter POS Payment
Users can now quickly jump from Service Job Enquiry directly to Enter POS Payment.
Prepayment Total & Balance
The Prepayment Total and Balance are now displayed in Service Job Completion for better visibility before finalising.
Prompt for Prepayment
A new option in Service Job Entry/Maintenance allows users to tick a box so that when a job is saved, they are prompted to enter a prepayment (e.g. when charging a quote fee upfront upon equipment drop-off).
Service Job SMS Status Updates
Users can now send Service Job SMS updates to customers.
Templates can be created in BBS System List Maintenance (SMS Message Templates - SM). Please refer to BBS System List Maintenance to create your service job SMS templates.
The default template is the Service Job Status Update template.
Available merge fields include:
<<JOBNO>> = The service job number
<<CUSTORDERNO>> = The customer order number on the service job
<<COYNAME>> = BBS Company Name
<<WHADDRESS>> = Warehouse address of the service job for pickup purposes
<<WHPHONE>> = Warehouse phone number of the service job
<<EQUIPMENT>> = The equipment description from the service job
Service Job Category
A new Service Job Category field allows users to group jobs by a user-defined category.
The Job Catgeory field is visible in:
Service Job Management Dashboard
A new system list has been added to BBS System List Maintenance for Service Job Categories (JC). Please refer to BBS System List Maintenance to create your service job categories.
Categories have also been added to the below reports for filtering:
Quote / Booking / Bench Charges
A new tab has been added in Service Job Entry/Maintenance labelled Sundry Invoice Items/Quote Fees.
By entering charges here, users no longer need to remember to manually add upfront service charges at the completion stage.
These enhancements are designed to improve workflow efficiency, payment tracking, and customer communication within Service Jobs.
