To improve grouping and filtering by product, on reports that display product code and description together in the same field (eg sales invoice lines, sales order lines etc), the description will now be displayed as the current product code and description UNLESS the product allows for description change. This allows for better grouping where a product’s description has changed in the past whilst still maintaining the ability to see a split between generic products that allow description change.

 

E.g. For products that allow for description change on transactions, the product code and description from the transaction will be used for grouping and for products that DO NOT allow for description change on transactions, the product code and description from the Product Masterfile will be used for grouping regardless of what the description was on the sales transaction.
